I assumed that the vehicle was unlocked, hence why it was stolen, and nothing in what I've read say otherwise. Also, I have been in the Army for the last ten years, and physical security is beaten in your head on a regular basis. If it isn't locked, it isn't secured. Also, if it is locked and the keys are in it, then it still ins't secured, as all you have to do to steal it is get inside. For this reason both weapons and radios require two seperate locks. As for someone getting bit by the rattlesnake - I didn't state that it would be the owner's fault, just that leaving a venomous animal unsecured was irresponsible. By leaving it in an unsecured vehicle you are leaving it unsecured, period.
