My guy is in a 110 qt tub. He has tons of space considering he is so small, and he likes to try and be a little acrobat. Here:

I am thinking of switching out of the cypress because I want to feed him in enclosure, but I don't want to have an issue with him accidentally ingesting the substrate.

I have pictures of the entire set up from when I first got the tub to when I finished with it too if you would like to see those

Tubs in a rack are by far the best way to go. If I would have known I could keep her in a plastic freaking tub I would have saved a lot of money when I got her lol

Yeah I feel the same way, before I got this guy I did google searches on the subject and it seems to be somewhat controversial but people use them. Other people don't like them because they say there isn't enough space for them. I am not sure what other peoples opinions are on this but I think that with frequent handling they can still be comfortable.

Tubs are space savers, but not necessarily the best enclosures. I found that tanks worked better for me, until I started building my own cages.
Here are some pics of my old tank setups:

    QT tank, 20gal:

40gal breeder tank for my biggest girl:

10gal showing screen treatment and tank insulation:

    20gal long:

Now, I use the cages I built myself which work even better!:

I'm in the process of building version 2 of these cages, which will also have more decor to take up empty space in the ball python's cage. The corn (on the bottom) likes her room to move around.

On your 10 gallon set up, what is that "thing" in foil on the left side of the tank? is that an RHP? just getting ideas on how to get my temps up on my new tank

The foil is actually foil tape, holding on the blue insulation board I place over my background, back and both sides, on all tanks to keep heat and humidity stable. That's why I said the 10gal was showing the tank insulation as well as the screen treatment. You can also see the same stuff taped to the sides of the two 20's. The foam board itself is visible under the 10g tank.
It works wonderfully, and even living in Denver, CO I never had my temps fluctuate more than 2 degrees.
