If I were you, I would separate them as soon as possible. If your female is not old or big enough, there could be life threatening consequences.

Females around 800-1000g will often go off feed. I had two females that both stopped eating around that weight and then began eating 3-9 months later.

I would separate them to see if you can get the female to start eating again.
