    How do you know?

I have two ball pythons housed together they eat every two weeks. one is refusing to eat going on the 3rd week she has shed and she looks very healthy when we try to feed her she seems interested at first and then after a few minutes she doesnt pay any attention to it anymore. My first thought was maybe she is pregnant. How can you tell if she is? and if she isnt what are some reasons that she wouldnt b eating?

The first question will be, are they housed together the entire time?

If you take a look at this care sheet you will likely find a number of reasons that your ball isn't eating. Honestly, I would think that being "gravid" with eggs is probably not the reason.

Housing together is frowned upon. They are solitary animals in the wild unless it's breeding season. You generally get a much better feeding response when they are housed separately.

Yeah, age matters. Females between 800 and 1500 grams will often go off feed for a winter--perhaps hormones, as they're close to maturity? It's just slightly early for that, though.

If I were you, I would separate them as soon as possible. If your female is not old or big enough, there could be life threatening consequences.

Females around 800-1000g will often go off feed. I had two females that both stopped eating around that weight and then began eating 3-9 months later.

I would separate them to see if you can get the female to start eating again.
