Retained shed?

Hey y'all, I'm a little concerned about my ghost... it seems like he has a retained shed & has looked like this for the past 48 hours...



What do y'all think? Should I be worried? Should I assist using the method of putting about 1/2 inch of h2O in a shoebox sized Rubbermaid along with a washcloth or should I just let nature take its course? Thank you in advance for any advice or tips!

That was exactly how my normal looked when I rescued her. Bump up your humidity to at least 70% and try to keep it there. Once you notice that it's starting to flake off, you can put him in a damp pillow case or let him slither through a warm, wet wash cloth.

Thanks! I've used both methods in the past & they worked perfectly. But my humidity is perfect... I live on the coast so the humidity is naturally high. In addition, he has four hides... two of which have moist moss & on top of that I have an aquarium pump & bubble stones in the water dish in each enclosure for additional humidity. I'm stumped...

Bad Shed? No Problem!

Thank you! I've done this method with my albino male & it worked perfectly. But the albino wasn't near as bad as the ghost. The albino just had a few stuck spots, the ghost doesn't have any "flakey" spots, it looks like wrinkly saran-wrap all over his body.

Can you try this stuff (It's what I use for shedding) http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=2753947 Once the shed is over, I remove the moss.

I soak a decent amount in a bowl of water, then ring out most (not all of the water) and put it in with the hide that is over my UTH, this creates a nice humidity box and the shed should come off in a day or two. I just saw this post, try with the moss inside verse outside, put it in hide that is over the UTH.

That's a stuck shed, I would do a humid soak so you can remove it.

Sterilte tub with lid
A hand towel or towel in the bottom of tub
Add 88 to 90 degree water until the towel is soaked and is sitting in water.
Add snake for a 30 minute soak.

Replenish with more warm water and soak for another 30 minutes.
The shed should just about be off or slide right off with a little assistance.

Thank you for the conformation on the stuck shed. I suspected that's what it was but I wasn't sure if there was a difference between "retained" & "stuck". I am about to start the soak process you suggested. Thank you for the advice & tip!
