Lol, paper towels = cheap hide. I have a couple that do that. :p

Paper towels: The hide that doubles as substrates! Now more absorbant and blanket-like!

I would leave them too. In my hides that are to large I place moss to make them feel smaller and more secure to the snakes. Crinkled newspaper could have the same effect.

I Use a regular soft flame lighter to round out sharp edges in plastic. Just kiss it with the flame and smooth it out with your finger.

Yes thanks guys ill leave em! my boa has hides a little large with leaves in, but he spends 99% of his time either on his perch, or hiding under strips of left over coco husk background i have running along 3 walls of his viv. perhaps the snakes feel even more secure when they can feel the hide draped over them like with the paper towels. Kinda like me - i cant sleep without a blanket even if im warm enough lol

I think its so funny you guys call tubs "rubs" over there. Just makes me giggle every time I see it.

Isnt Hoover the same - like all vacuum cleaners get called hoovers cos Hoover was the name of the company that made the first one? I dunno maybe im getting confused lol
