It looks like enough clutter. Just let it settle in for about a week. After a week, offer a meal. If it eats, wait two more days for digestion, then you can start with short handling sessions.

P.S. Have fun resisting the temptation to handle your new little friend...

    Re: Stressed or just exporing?

Some snakes are must more outgoing than others. My female lesser and mojave are like that. They rarely hide and always come up to the front of bin when I come in. they never miss a meal, shed clean, so I don't worry about them.

Then my pastel and cinny never come, but are eating and shedding well . . . .it is what it is sometimes.

Ill know in a week or so if he eats. If he does then i know hes just more out going.
The breeder i got him from said his kids held him a lot since he was born, so he may be a well acclimated out going snake.. I hope

My pastel did the same thing for about a week. Wouldnt stop moving around like she was trying to escape. She settled down ALOT after that. She usually hides for 2 full days after a feed then slowly becomes more active... peaks her head out alot at night and sometimes comes out for a drink or roams around especially if nobody is in the room. Shes a sweet thing and has no issues feeding, shedding, etc. Dont handle him for a week (he's already stressed) and he'll be good to go after that.

Indy still "runs" around at night, just after it gets dark and sits under the heat lamp basking, around 1:30 she goes back into a hide. Congrats on your new guy, hope he feeds well for you!

I think he was roaming because he was hungry fed him a hopper today. He took it no problem and is now happily hiding
