I would count a 100% het as another gene. It does take two of that recessive gene to make a visual. Just like it takes 2 yellowbellies to make an Ivory or 2 het Russos to make a white diamond. You're not going to say an Ivory is a single gene. A visual albino will pass on a single albino gene to all of its offspring. Not some, all. The perks of being in the homozygous form like a super.
A pastel female is only worth $150. A pastel het. Clown is $1000-1200. At that price difference, I would sure as heck include the het gene.
I'm one who says that a het gene can alter the way the snake looks. Many morph het clowns are highly influenced by the het gene. And there are a significant number of morph het pieds that are visually influenced by that het gene too.
Pastels and other co-doms with a homozygous super form are considered visual hets.
Either way, I would count. a recessive het as an additional gene.

This is a great point!
And we definitely need to add Hypo to the list of Recessive genes that can greatly influence other morphs with just the het gene present.

Very good points! Even more complicated than I originally thought of it! I wasn't even considering "visual" hets! I suppose I will have to change my view on things!
