Hi I've had my ball jinx for a month and over the past few days I've noticed his body has gotten kind of a dry feel to it and I wanted to know if its something I should be worrying about thanks to anybody that responds.

Hi I've had my ball jinx for a month and over the past few days I've noticed his body has gotten kind of a dry feel to it and I wanted to know if its something I should be worrying about thanks to anybody that responds.

Is his belly pink or has his eyes started to look a cloudy blue? If so then he is going into shed. You need to make sure the humidity is higher for him at this time. Get a small spray bottle and fill it with water. Heavily mist the snake and his cage twice a day. Make sure the temperature of his cage is where it should be. The whole process may take 5 to 10 days.

It goes like this. They start to look dull, then you notice the belly turn pink and eyes turn blue. After a bit the eyes clear up and so does their color but they look rather shiny. A couple days after they shed. The skin should all come off pretty much in one piece if the humidity is kept properly.

Thank you for the help and yeah he just finished shedding his skin and is back to normal.
