The white portion of a pied baby will glow pink when candling, as Brandon said.  You can also make out the aberrant pattern through the egg - it can be subtle but there is a difference when comparing to a normal being candled. In the vid I posted, you can see splotches of pattern broken up in the pink glow. I scrutinized my pics and video clips so much in the last few weeks before that clutch was due to hatch and feel like I have a pretty good grasp on what to look for now that I know what was actually in those eggs.
