I think if someone stole them they would ask for more money, and how would they steal an entire rack and everything to care for the snakes?
I don't think they are stolen. I think the husband was given an ultimatum either by the wife/landlord/some authority. He needed to get rid of them fast. Wanting your animals to go to a good home is not something that raises a red flag for me. The price does, but nothing else really does.
From my understanding, the wife said the snakes needed to be gone and the husband said he wants them to go to a good home? Whats so wrong with that?
Again, I may have mis-read something in this rather long thread. This is just my opinion. Occasionally good deals surface. :/

This is very very different from this quote from you:

I would be careful with how you represent your education. Claiming you are a 3L is very different from being in your second year of an associates degree. Good luck with your education.

As far as a scorned woman stuff, if she sells things in HER name, then he's out of luck. If the items belong to him or are in his name, she's a thief same as if she walked into your home and took your things and sold them. Sorry, but just because he's a jerk doesn't make it not stealing. If the car was in her name, then I hope she really enjoyed his anguish when he found out it was gone.
sounds like the lady was at the pet store, which makes sense, craiglist's official stance is no animal sales, but we all "rehome" them for sale prices anyways. I doubt a random person would even know how to ship a snake, so whats left? local pet stores sounds pretty reasonable for someone who doesn't know the ropes.
Btw if I was to unload my snakes, i wouldn't even think of calling up people I have bought from.... I would find it odd if someone called me to see if I wanted to buy a snake I sold them.
From talking to many people, it doesn't matter whos name is on what when it comes to marriage, lawyers, and judges. I dont know never been married.

Law school doesnt mean just lawyers is anything that has to do with the law : law enforcemnt, lawyers, criminal justice, public defenders. Much like saying medical school is just for doctors when it could be nerses or vets or untrasound technitians.

No offense, but Medical School is just for Doctors. Nursing School is for Nurses. And Veterinary School is for Vets. Technicians are a whole other ball game and don't attend any of the aforementioned institutions. It is not the same thing at all. They are all very different institutions with VERY different admissions requirements, and anyone who attended any of the three would not want to be misrepresented in such a way.

Can I ask a serious question? I honestly do not mean to offend but are you from another country?
The reason I ask is it might help us understand your interpretation of what Law School and Med School actually is and explain the spelling.

OK every one is keyboard happy here but really this is out of topic. Falsly accusing someone can also open a door to litigation. Just saying. What ever happen to benefit of the doubt ?

It's not 'falsely accusing' to say it sounds like a stolen animals situation. It's an opinion.
And as far as "I posted my opinion" routine, everyone who is a member of the site is just as 'entitled' to post their opinions of any/all posts on here. If you post that you think keeping stolen property is a great thing to do, you should be aware that people will feel free to post their opinion of that.
I know that if I were hard up for money, or HAD to get rid of snakes I would definitely contact people I had bought snakes from. After all, I already did one successful deal with them.. why not contact them? If they didn't want any of the snakes, they could easily know someone who did.
I do hope it's a completely legit deal and your buddy got a great deal. Otherwise, he's going to lose out on the money and the snakes, which will suck. If they are stolen, I hope the owner finds out where his animals are so he can get them back.
