Soaking is very stressful to a BP, imagine if something 20 times your size picked you us and dropped you in the middle on an ocean. Stress in snakes leads to everything from refused meals to compromised immune systems and should be avoided at all costs.

Further soaking removes the oils necessary for the shedding process (it dries out their skin just like it does to ours) so when people soak their snake to try to help it shed they are actually making things worse. This differs from soaking a snake after a failed shed. at that point the snake has given up on the shedding process and needs help. soaking can help loosen stuck shed but is still very stressful.

All in all soaking is never necessary if you maintain proper temperatures/humidity levels (80 degrees cool side, 90 degrees hot side, 50%- 60% humidity normally 60%-80% humidity during shed)

raise then humidity, make sure that there is fresh water available to the snake, and make sure that he eats. They get most of their water from the rodents that they eat (66% of a rats body weight is water)

I personally try to avoid directly misting BP's as they don't really seem to like it. You can if you want as it won't hurt him. If you do make sure that the water is room temperature fist.

Thank you. I will try getting the humidity a little bit higher and if that doesn't work then I'll resort to the mist. I already know Slytherin hates it so I'll try that last if nothing else works.

I should have waited until seeing a picture, but yes, the advice I gave was ONLY if the snake has already failed.

I'll try to later because I'm not home right now. When I looked earlier they looked kinda greenish. Definitely, lighter than they typically are
