    Here's Floyd and his portrait

    Lucifer Sam, Siam cat...
    Always sitting by your side,
    Always by your side...
    That cat's something I can't explain...

sho220: To say that your painting here is impressive is an understatement! I tried to look at the rest of your gallery, but my computer keeps crashing when it tries to load the page. So we'll just pass for now. I'll hopefully look later when I'm on a different computer.

Oils are just lovely to work with. I wish I could continue with them. But, alas, I lost my studio when we moved. Now my art room is also my snake room, so there is no chance of doing oils until we move in the next few years :-)

Until then, I'm reduced to graphite and charcoal:

Brazilian Rainbow Boa. Proportions are a little skewed, but I noticed it too late in the process to fix. But it's all good!

Wow that's amazing, wish you could show me how you use the white on the scales so good! It really looks like it's bouncing off. I will check out the gallery as soon as I'm home !

Bummer to hear about the art studio :/ but amazing picture ! I've only worked with graphite a few times, was it pretty tedious?

    Thank you.

Yes. This picture took me about 16hours. Mostly because it takes some time and planning and layers to make sure you have everything going right. It's always easier to add more than it is to try and erase, so you basically work from light to dark.

I have some progress pictures of this drawing. Maybe I'll make an animated GIF to show the labor of love.

One reason I love oils. It's not as picky, and you can fix mistakes more often than not, haha.

Better at drawing horses but I wanted to try to draw a snake. I'm pretty happy with it, but maybe one day I'll draw another with more details.
