They are great, but they are not ball pythons... where a BP is naturally wired to ball up[ when threatened a Carpet Python is not. That said I love handling my carpet python (75% coastal 25% jungle Carpet Python) Some can be nippy when they are young but 99% of them will completely grow out of it.

If there is one local to you then I would suggest that take a look at it first hand. (I would take your Daughter as well) hold this particular CP and get a feel for him/her. Jungle Carpets will get bigger than a BP will so keep that in mind.

Jungles are great for first carpet pythons, and if you already have some experience with BP's then I would say go for it.
