New Website - Thoughts/input?

Hey all, I got our new website up and running:

Take a look and let me know what you think! It's very photo heavy, but I think it came out pretty nice. Any input or suggestions are welcome!!

The layout it nice, pics are great. Shipping info, guarantees, terms, maybe a link or write up of caresheet / info on the bp. (Sorry, I always like to see caresheets on breeders pages, or at least a link to a good one)

I might downsize the amount of pics on the "python" page. Or, if you definitely want all the pics, Maybe a clickable gallery. IE Large pic, short sentence about the snake, then click through to more pics / more info. Some people want to see multiple pics of your collection, some just want a quality overview at a glance.

I would also try to use your space better. My screen isn't huge, but it still shows up in the center with a lot of the blue background showing.

Hi all thanks for the input.

Agreed on the terms and conditions and shipping info. I am in the process of writing those all up for putting on the website. Good call on the care sheet, I had originally wanted to put this up and just missed it when working on the website. Do you guys use the care sheets off here or build your own?

Thanks for letting me know about the blue background. I was worried that was just because I was viewing it on my larger secondary monitor but I guess. That may be a deal breaker and I have to go back to the drawing board for format.

Just a tiny aesthetic thing: I see you have a little thumbnail of your logo, and right next to it you have the same text, just bigger. Perhaps you could expand the size of the logo and get rid of the text next to it? Also, I would make the background color of the logo match the background color of that title/link bar. I hope that made sense!

I'm in the what's brewing page, I go to click on the home page, and it doesn't work. I'm using firefox. It will only work if I put the mouse below on the line, all the other words work when mouse is over the words.

The available part, I'd maybe remove those tanks. When going to your site, as a customer I'd be expecting snakes for sale.

I don't have any snakes ready, or eggs in the incubator. Building a website and not having anything to offer seems like the counting the chickens before they hatch type of deal.

Trying not to be rude. I want to build my site, but am nowhere close to even having anything to offer. All your "what's brewing say 2013", which is a long way away.

Pics are great, huge though, but no issues for me. Layout is clean, and easy to browse through.

Maybe watermark your photos, and you're set.

oh, not sure why the facebook thing on your page says over 260,000 likes, and your actual page has 50. Or is that the company Wix that has those likes?

I disagree, many breeders have websites and don't have anything on their "available" page. Either everything sells out before they can post it, or they are waiting for eggs to hatch. If we were to keep your mentality that you need animals available to keep the website up, I'd say many breeders would be without a website for 9 months out of the year.

he asked for input and suggestions. so I gave mine. just from looking at the site, there is no history to any sales. i'm just giving my input. like I said, I don't have any snakes ready, and wouldn't start advertising something yet. I'd want to have at least 3-4 clutches under my belt before I made it to building my site. I purchased one, but no way is it ready for being posted.

I have taken a website design course back in 2000. I do have some ideas on what to look for.

Just because 2013 is 6 months away, doesn't mean anything. I've read a lot of "babies lost" threads on here, and again, never count your chickens before they hatch. His other two "brewing" are for late 2013/2014....which is really far away.

I've also done a site with a web/server company, and it cost me like $40-60 a month, so it isn't cheap using those companies (times how many months not selling anything?)
