    Another update!

Okay, so I had the heat pad on all day while I was at work today, I got home to find her hangin out in her hot hide. I have the digital thermometer probe at the front of the hide with her atm - the probe is on the top of the substrate like she is - its reading in at 90 degrees.
I also got a digital hydrometer/thermometer. The humidity is at 81%.....and the ambient temperature is only 77 - 79 degrees!! Note that today is a much colder day than the average Pittsburgh summer day. Today is cold and rainy. So that's why its only at 77. But still... What do you guys think?

Damn I'm surprised at this humidity reading...now up to 83%

They're great at holding humidity and to keep temps from fluctuating. Also, if it gets cold, you can mount a radiant heat panel to the roof. Like all heat sources, it should be regulated with a thermostat, but I find it really helps keep his ambient temps proper, and doesn't kill humidity.

A t8 from animal plastics would be the best. You can get a divider to section off her side of the tank till she's big enough for the whole thing.

Wow that T8 is damn sexy. I'm supposed to get a pretty nice chunk of change come late September. I will DEFINITELY get that T8 then if not before! That looks damn sexy and a great house for my little Sapphira!! Haha

The humidity is way to high. We only take ours up to 70 during shed. 40 to 60 is fine during non shed time. Try putting a fan in the room or letting more air flow into the cage. Do not put the fan directly facing the cage, just have it in the room moving the air.

This is my PVC cage. It's not a t8, but it's about the same size. It has flexwatt and an rhp, as well as a fluorescent light.

With the t8, you could buy one for her with a divider and make the cage 1/2 or 1/3rd of it's size till she's an adult.

My 1000+ male lives in this enclosure.

GREAT suggestion. Its a humid, humid summer here in Pittsburgh, as I'm sure it is for a lot of you.
Are there any other things I can do to lower humidity? Its strange, my substrate (AspenSnake) is not very moist at all in there. I find it ironic that my PetCo stick thermometers are reading just about the same thing as my digital ones

Make sure the water bowl is away from all heat sources and add a fan. That should get you down a bit. As long as you are not getting condensation building in the tank staying a little high is fine.

For the first couple days there was condensation building up, but I improved the airflow of the tank and solved that problem. This morning it was at 75%, which was nice to see. Its hotter today though, I'm sure it will be higher. Gonna have to get a fan!

She ate those 2 mice about 4 days ago and still seems a little sluggish, though became partially active last night. Very sleepy though....if snakes sleep?
