    Re: Your first reptile?

My first reptiles were the box turtles, garter snakes, frogs, toads, etc that I could catch as a kid. My first purchased reptile was a king snake that I kept for many years until I gave him to a friend that wanted him for his classroom.

My first reptile was a female Green Iguana when I was 12 or 13. She was probably one of the coolest pets I have ever had!

Got a Tokay Gecko when I was 12, not knowing the first thing about them.
    What a nightmare that was.

A tortoise that my uncle caught wild. We eventually re-released him. S/he was pretty cool.

I had a couple of American Anoles when I was about 20 (a long time ago). I only had them for about a year. I have not had any others up until last year when we kids talked me into a gecko, which quickly became 4 geckos. And just this week, our first BP. I'd say I'm hooked because I am already trying to decide what snake to get next and how to break it to my wife.
