I watched Fatal Attractions last night. They really do play off snake keepers to be psychotic, don't they?
"Despite the warnings from his friends and family, Brian just could not live without his precious snakes."
While they said that, it was a video clip of some guy just staring into a tank, almost like he was stoned. As he fed it, the human in the clip looked almost... aroused by feeding his snake? Biting his lip, savouring the moment kind of crud.
Really?
Because of these shows, co-workers of mine, who once thought it was neat that I had snakes, are now approaching me asking if I ever worry about my safety. I just reply: "I worry about my safety more when I'm driving than I do feeding my animals at home. You have a dog, don't you? Don't you ever worry it's going to maul a child to death like in those shows?"
"That's different..." they say.
Yeah... SO different
Yeah, the media really hurts our hobby, and I wish people knew that they do it for views, and that it's not the whole truth.
