Except that it's a very reasonable excuse that has merit. Not everyone knows how to do things online. Just because you know it, doesn't mean everyone else does. My mother is 50. Five years ago, she didn't know how to use a forum, let alone the search function. There's millions of people that are just like her five years ago, today.

Alright. You claim that after you turn on a computer, that you should learn how to use it, which would also include proper upkeep and maintenance. So, question for you. Do you know how to ping a website, find a list of all the hardware on your computer, and edit your IP/subnet mask/DNS? These are three basic things. If you answer no to any one of these, then you have no right to complain about people not being computer savvy.
