    Disco Mojave? Could be......

Hey guys, I haven't posted here in a while, and for the life of me, I don't know why I didn't post this girls pic here, but better late than never. Back story to this baby: I bred my Mojo girl Bella to my (what I believed to be at the time) Fire male Dante multiple times, and just once with a confirmed breeder Fire male. Eight eggs total, and I end up with two Mojo's, four Normals, and these two pictured. You'll agree that the first one looks nothing like what a Fire Mojo should look like. Well, after seeing what the Disco ball does to the Fire genes, and considering how similar Disco's look like Fires, I'd be willing to bet that Dante is actually a Disco, and not a Fire. I've gotten opinions from Ted Thompson and Joe Ellis that the dad Dante does look alot like a Disco, but it's hard to tell. Add to the mystery, I haven't been able to track down the hatching records for him (but I've got my top man on the job ).

I know that Joe is working with more Disco combos, I think I'll have to wait until he (or someone) reproduces a Disco/Mojo and compare it with my girl to be able to say definitively that that's what she is.

    Tell me what you think?

    Here's the special little girl:

    ...and here's the entire clutch:

...and here is one of her siblings, this girl I suspect is a Disco, but I'm just not sure:

...and let's not forget mom and dad:

She is a hot little thing! I think she looks like a fire mojo (similar to the one of WOB in my opinion) with a little bit of wackiness in the pattern but I am not familiar with the disco gene so my opinion is not too important. Maybe someone else on here can help? Either way she is a pretty little thing...

The colors on that baby are outrageous! She's gorgeous, whatever she is ...

I can't offer much help re: disco versus fire, as I don't currently even own either morph ... Though I will say, mom is such an impressive-looking, blushed-out mojave -- I wonder if it could be at least partially her influence that's making that baby's colors so intense?

Did you produce the sire yourself and if so, was his (fire) sire from a proven line?

It's a real puzzler. Mom is certainly blushed out to the extreme, pretty much all of her babies show a high level of the lightness. It's surely possible that it is having an influence.

I purchased the sire from Matt Jackson, who got him from Gary Ricks, who in turn got him from Priceless Pythons. As you can guess, it's not easy tracking down his lineage. This was the first year he's bred though.

Thanks for the comps all, she's definitely a keeper, no matter what she turns out to be.

Is there really a question about the first snake pictured being a 2 gene animal?

    Congrats! Sweet combo!

Nope, no question about it being a two gene, it's whether it's a Disco/Mojo or a wacked out Fire/Mojo

    Thanks!
