That egg has had his "window" for several weeks. I've had to q tip betadine on it to remove any mold about every other day.
Just candled them all the other day and they are all moving around in there quite nicely. I was getting worried about those few that are really scrunched up.

Anyone else have an opinion on the matter?

I would wait, they look kind if dry to me but I have only used vermiculite on eggs, never really got the need for substrate less?

I think they look fine for day 50. If you can raise the humidity, it may help. I would wait until day 55 to cut.

Well i cut, i must say it was the most nerve racking experience in breeding yet lol.
This is my first clutch so their very important to me.
The pairing was a lesser x normal.
I have 6 lessers, 2 normals and 2 i couldn't tell, their bellies were up.
    Not bad odds at all!
The couple eggs that are really scrunched don't seem to have very much liquid in the eggs and i can see some yolk. Hope they pull through ok.
All the babies were alive in the eggs though.
It's day 55, now i wonder how long until they come out
I took a couple photos I'll have to post them later.
I'm very happy with the results but I'm still nervous.

just don't let the sac dry. add water if you have too. and make sure you have it at the same temp, good reason to keep a few bottles in the incubator. once they pip they should remain in the egg until they absorb their yolk. (usually 24 to 48 hours) good luck, you're almost there.

add water to the inside of the egg if it gets dry?
I guess I'm confused about the water bottle part too.

    Re: Day 50 egg question

I keep water bottles full with the caps on them in my incubator. helps in keeping temps stable and if you need to add water, it's at the right temp. yes, add to the inside of the egg. I use distilled water.
