Also, find the folder the game is installed into, on your local drive. There may be an uninstall program in there. It will probably be listed under the name of the company that made the game. If there is no uninstall program in the folder, then delete the folder, and see if that works.

    This.

Also, as for the bsod. Download a temp monitoring program like Coretemp or Realtemp and see if it is your processor over heating. The heatsink could have just come loose during shipping. If it is not the processor over heating then download Memtest86 and burn to a CD-R and run it. Those should be the two most likely culprits if the bsod is only happening a couple times a day.

Thanks guys...that gives me something to work on later this afternoon! Just the sort of info I was looking for.

tsy72001, I do appreciate the help...was just trying to get back to the original question and let you know that I DO know and understand what's needed for shipping it back. It's from a good company we've worked with before and under warranty and I've only had it for less than a week. The warranty isn't going to expire today.

What I am saying is that it may be under warranty, but they will only pay to ship it back to them for a certain amount of time, and that is not for the life of the warranty. Also many warranties will not pay to ship it both ways back to the dealer and to you. Many warranties make you pay all shipping cost. That is way I say get it back to them ASAP!

C:/program files/(game name or developer name)

Delete that file folder and it should fix the installation problems.

As for returning it, I would first contact the seller and request a win7 installation disk so you can attempt to either fix the defects in the operating system or just fully rewrite the OP so that the problem goes away.

    Hi,

Random bluescreens are more likely to be hardware that got jostled a little loose during shipping in a brand new computer.

Memory or graphics being most likely.

Re-seating everything would probably be my first move.

It worked to find the game folder under the programs directory and just delete the whole thing. Thanks, guys!

Derek, that's exactly what Dean thinks is going on. Now, I just need to figure out how to get him to stay home long enough to stay awake. Seems like all he does lately is work and sleep.

Glad I could help! I should've thought about the reseating after hearing it was shipped myself, but if that doesn't work then like I said it could be an operating systems malfunction. Something just didn't write properly during installation.

I know when I install MSOffice 2010 that there are chances it doesn't install right, haha.

Please bear in mind if you open it up you may completely void your warranty.
BSOD are normally failures to write or receive memory from the ram modules.
're seating them might fix it but ram nowadays clips into the ram slots.
A lot of pre built pc's use generic cheap ram with a high failure rate.
Contact the company and ask if opening to check ram will void warranty.

Re: Any computer savvy folks around to help with an annoying problem?

Did you installed anything aside from the game or are you installing the game twice? Cause some of the modules of the game might causing the issue due to conflict program files. Try to boot it up in safemode (keep on pressing F9 upon booting up) then from there, uninstall the application completely. Or better yet, bring it back to the store where you bought it
