I disagree... I haven't heard any sound reasoning for why he would be taking 2 weeks. I suppose multiple little things could cause a series of unfortunate events, but thats probably unlikely. Is it murpheys law or occams razor?

I see no need for those. Yet. However, there are a LOT of people here. Knowing who's in question here is pertinent.

If you want help, you need to provide the information needed to allow help to be given. Without all the facts, it's a waste of time.

I agree actually... what if it was another Tim Rainwater like character (on a much smaller scale of course) selling snakes he doesn't have yet. Maybe we've heard of the dude and can suggest the best way to proceed-- like whether or not to request a refund.

Just because there's a picture there doesn't mean he has them in his possession NOW or, if he does, that they're actually for you. I would ask him to take a picture with the snakes on a piece of paper that says, "For (your name)" with the date of purchase and todays date. That way, if he doesn't actually have them-- then he can't do that. If he does have them, then you have some more evidence to support that he owes you snakes...

When you look at shipping temperatures, you have to look at least three places - where the snake is coming from, where the snake is going to and the major hub that the snake will be passing through. Here are the major hubs that will sort and that packages go through: Memphis, Tennessee; Oakland, California; Newark, New Jersey; Fort Worth, Texas; Indianapolis, Indiana; Anchorage, Alaska . You need to learn which hub the package will go through if you are going to ship, so you can check on the temperatures there. I've had packages sent from a city only two hours drive away that went from there to Indianapolis then back to the local hub.

It has been very hot and if the breeder is keeping in touch with you and sending pictures, he is probably concerned about the safety of the snakes. As long as he continues to be in touch with you and you check on the temps and forecasts yourself, then give him time. He may not be comfortable shipping and wants to make sure conditions are good. Neither of you want DOA's.

I haven't shipped snakes in the past, but I have shipped my fair share of packages while I was without a car and dealing with life BS. Sometimes stuff happens. Sometimes it really sucks to have to tell your customer: "I couldn't ship today because of this..."

Give it another shot. 3 failed attempts isn't unreasonable. However, if it becomes a 4th or 5th attempt and that still fails, then yes, I would see red flags.

At this point, I see a transaction that's dealing with outside influences. Until matters change or communication stops or the snakes get delayed yet again, then I wouldn't sweat it. People are very quick to jump to possibilities (granted, many people have screwed people over in this hobby), but I'd rather think the best of a person until they prove me wrong, rather than assume the worse and think negatively of someone who is just trying their best.

Be careful of someone who repeatedly misses ship dates and has an excuse for each time it is missed. We don't need a name yet but you should turn up the heat on him. A phone call a day usually does it. Good luck!

You haven't heard squat...all we've gotten is a tiny bit of one-sided info. And two weeks is nothing...you have 3 days out of each week to ship...Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday...and shipping out isn't the only concern. You also have to ensure the receiving party is available the day of receipt...and keep in mind some folks have jobs and other commitments to attend to...put away your pitchfork and douse your torch...there's no problem yet...

Just because it's not a problem for you does not mean it's not a problem.

This should be a HUGE red flag to anyone who doesn't blindly trust everyone.

Who's the breeder? If he's so great, sing his praises.
