Don't listen to other people. If you want to do it then you will.
I will say there is no one way to breed balls. What you mentioned is all good stuff. Each breeder has their own way of doing things and I'm sure many people have had success on that formula.
The advice I will give you is: follow your current plan and document everything, and I mean everything. Go through your season and see what you results are. Next season try tweaking it and so on. Soon you will be telling others how to properly breed snakes (even though there is no one way to do it)
