New rescue, help!
We got a call from my fiance's coworker asking if we could take in his late fathers snake. Of course we said yes and headed over there. We found a beautiful huge corn in a GIANT 5ft long lizard lounge. We have no space for the cage and I know its too big for him anyway.
My question is all about husbandry.
We know nothing about these guys! heat, humidity, space requirements the works. I looked for a care sheet here but didnt see one.
The box he is in is about 1ft x10in to give you a size reference

From what I know corns are fairly easy. I would just follow the guide for what the conditions should be and create then in the same safe manner you would for a BP. You should have checked out what the temps were when you picked it up. Maybe even snatched the heat sources.

My corns seem to like temps a little cooler, but they still have an appropriate hot spot (regulated of course: belly heat). I have a 600+ gram normal in a 20 gallon long which works fine for him for now but a 41qt tub would be fine too IMO for adults (my other two corns are in tubs). Humidity ~50% with perfect sheds all the time.

Do you have your herps in a seperate room? Ive heard of people being very successful just keeping corns in 80-84 deg ambient temps. As daybreaker said, i have heard that corns like it cooler.

Well he had an unregulated UTH and a black light bulb and since the owner passed away last weekend, I couldnt exactly ask.

I do, but since he's new he'll be in QT in our bedroom. We keep our house at 75° so I'm thinking if doing a low wattage light until I can get another t-stat

low 80s an he should be fine. The biggest mistake people make is they keep them too hot. Lovely snake btw an good luck with yi
