I haven't had anything really bad happen to me. My worst injuries are all horse related.

The worst pain wise was when my horse tripped jumping over a crick and face planted. I went over her head and landed on my back. When she went to get back up she put her hoof on my chest, luckily she realized she was on me and jumped off before she broke anything. I had a giant bruise on my sternum and ribcage, but she didn't break anything, maybe a hairline fracture since I still get the wind knocked out of me every now and again when it pinches.

The worst one, long term wise, was when I got rolled on by a horse. My hips are still messed up and that was at least 7 years ago. I tore the ligaments/muscles that keep the hip bone in the socket. I didn't go to the doc for either injury, which was probably a mistake. I did go to the doc when I chipped a bone in my foot from being drug -by a horse, lol. I told my dad the boots he got me weren't stirrup safe! I also had a concussion from that but I refused the ct.

None of those were intentional injuries on the horses part. Accidents. Which can happen doing anything!!!

Lol, they can be dangerous! We have never had any beginner horses on the farm, they are all intermediate to advanced rider horses that need more hours in the saddle, a confident rider, or like my horse, she's spooky and does stupid/dangerous things. I also go out and ride new horses that friends buy to see if they really are broke or not, I had one horse rear and flip over on it's back while I was on it. I jumped off and landed on my feet next to it on the ground. In 8 years of riding horses that aren't for beginners, I'd say that's not too bad, lol. My sister somersaulted with her horse because she was galloping through 6 foot tall grass, she was asking for that! She didn't get hurt other than breaking her thumbnail almost all the way off.

Yep yep, we've only had one horse that would intentionally try to hurt people and we got rid of her after a couple months. I don't give those types of horses a chance, those are the dangerous ones. Most of our injuries were from bad judgment calls on our end, or just plain accidents. The rolling incident was an accident and a really bad judgment call on my end. My sister and I were riding in what we thought was a dry creek bed (which you should never do), all the sudden my horse slipped in and she tried to get us out by hopping up on the creek wall with her knees, but she lost her balance. I was pinned under her and she was stuck in the mud. That's one reason I think you should always ride in pairs!

Well, here's one I just got. I was swinging off a dock on a rope and when I got out to let go my buddy pops up out of the water and I didn't want to land on him do I held on and slammed back into the dock, I can barely walk now!
