    Went fishing, caught a snake!

I don't know what it is but I pinned it down pretty hard. I think it's a baby bull. I brought it home. Anyways, is there a certain way a snake moves if it's spine is broken? Like is it really obvious? Also, it regurgitated a frog. Just letting ya'll know that. And if it is healthy, and no mites or contagious diseases, how important would it be to get it dewormed? Thanks!

    It is a bull snake!

You think you might have broken it's spine, you made it regurge it's meal and you're thinking of keeping it.. Let this be a lesson to you - next time observe, enjoy, leave alone.

It doesn't have any broken bones. What I felt was the undigested frog. How does anybody ever catch snakes then? I know it would have been better for me to have known what it was before i went for it.

It's wild, don't catch it, just let it be.

When I catch a wild snake I just grab them by the tail like steve erwin did. Sometimes you get bit but its no big deal. You do need to know all the venemous species in your area though and dont mess with them. I also have a copy of the national audubon society feild guide to campare to for guessing the species.

Please for your own safety next time just leave it and admire from a distance. Next time you might not be so lucky. There is nothing wrong with field herping, however you have to learn the right way for your protection as well as the animals.

Well, that's why I pinned it down. But yeah, I know. I guess it was just too exciting. I go hunting and fishing all the time but rarely see snakes. I'm gonna let it go tonight. Cute little bugger though.
