Reptile Covention ????????
Near the end of the year I'm looking to add a boa to my collection. What I'm wanting to know is:
Are reptile conventions like gun show where you can wheel and deal the prices? I've never been to oneand don't want to show up uniformed and over pay.

Yes, you can wheel and deal. Usually more at the end of the day. Dealers want to sell and not take home.

That makes allot of sense, thanks.
So maybe go both days, Scott out who has what I want and then strike on the second day. Gotta love when a plan comes together.
One I've started leaning more toward is a Brazilian Rainbow Boa. Can you say if this is a easy snake to find at a expo?

Re: Reptile Covention ????????
If you're like me, and very picky about the quality that you want, scouting out and waiting isn't always the best strategy, because chances are if it's something that I really like and want, so will someone else, and it won't be available when I'm ready to negotiate.
Because of this, I shop the snake, not the price. It's rare these days that I find an animal that passes muster for me to consider bringing home from a show. The last time I did was my fire female, and I paid a couple hundred more for her than the rest of the fires being offered at the show, because her quality was hands down, far more exceptional than the rest. Getting the very best example (to MY standards) is more important than negotiating prices.
However, if your goal isn't the same as mine, it may be worth the risk to wait and negotiate if quality is less important to you. Some shows I see rainbow boas, others I don't. It's hit or miss.

Another valid point. I guess I will have to go and hope they have a ton of rainbows and I can find a real nice one and work the booths off each other for a good price. I'm sure that won't happen. My luck they will only have one and price it accordingly. Lol!
Thanks yall! This was a big help.
