Given the number of snakes we here at BP net care for, I think the rep our scaly friends have is kinda not fair. We must have between us over 1000 animals (only 5 for me), so I think the rare picky one makes us think more of it.
IMHO (previously posted) a "slightly hungry" one, will do better taking FT. If your goal is "eat one meal every week", then your pet may win the battle, as he can easily outlast you. If your goal is, "get him/her to eat FT", then you may have a chance to convert.
I successfully converted a very stubborn female, but have yet to do same with the male, who used to eat FT no problem till one breeding season! I guess we know how males think when choice between food and.....
2 new additions of mine raised on live mice, easily took FT rat pups at first feeding. 1 Right away, the other waited until night time.
When I converted my female, at first I used to dangle for her. Soon she realized dead is dead, and now she just takes them.
