Re: What the heck is this?
I KNEW I had seen this before!! LOL
I opened up this thread expecting to see an update on a thread I had read about a month ago that was also asking about a "yellow morph"
Opened up the thread, saw the same photo as the other thread I remembered...But wait.. All the posts are dated today? Am I losing my mind?!? Theres no way I imagined this! I know Ive already heard this term "Yellow morph" and seen this exact pic! WTH?!
Well, a quick search helped me regain my sanity (at least whats left of it lol)
Here ya go:

Somebody just go get the thing already! lol Although, even if it is a Hypo, $100 isnt exactly a steal considering thats around what you can get males from a breeder for anyhow.. Or Fire, for that matter either (Which it isnt anyways)

They probably meant "yellow ghost/hypo". I picked up a male 2 years ago for $100.

Wait... so is the first picture the same snake or not? I agree that the second two pictures don't look like the snake in the first at all, neither do the photo qualities. The other thread's OP posted the picture first. I'm confused.

If it isn't a fire I wouldn't have much need of it anyway.
I'm not sure what a hypo could do with the snakes I have and the wizard doesn't list hypo as an option.

Would the Fire have had to been recessive for OG?
[my brain hurts]

So this is how it works. Anything recessive that shows the trait carries the homozygous allele. To obtain this the heterozygous allele, or homozygous allele has to be carried on both parents. So an albino that looks albino is homozygous. If it is het. or heterozygous for albino then it does not show it in the phenotype, bu it is still present in the genotype. So with recessives, both parents have to carry the trait; whether it be heterozygous or not, to be shown in its offspring. The prefix homo means same, hetero= different. A homozygous ghost bred to a normal will produce all normal offspring, but they will all have the same ghost gene. You would then need to breed a het to a het, or homo to produce the visual (phenotype). I know it's a lot, but once you get it, it's very easy

Good luck getting that guy to reply to you. Singer's Glenn right? I responded to him the day he posted that ad, even made arrangements to meet up with him, and got stood up. He had to work last minute, but didn't bother to let me know. Since I had driven 45 minutes, I offered to kill time and go see a movie if he was willing to meet after work and got no response (via text). My guy even contacted him from a different number and received the same run around. Complete waste of time.
I even asked the same question here:

Not cool.
This guy is trying to sell the snake but it seems doesn't really want to ? Or do you figure he's trying to get someone to send him the money first so he'll have the money and the snake ?
If you could get to see it in person, it would be easy as pie to tell what it is, but it sounds like that will be a challenge.

It's weird...I can "get" most of the genetics but the hypo jazz just throws me.
In dog coat color, 'hypo' would mean 'dilute' and I could understand that...but the dilution is uniform.
I'm not getting the snake so I reckon I can just "ignore" hypo completely.
