I was thinking about taking my Western Hognose, and hadn't even thought about letting other snakes near her - at least not close enough to pass mites etc. Is it a really bad idea? She's just so adorable and friendly, I thought it would be fun to let the kids (assuming some will be there) meet her.

My local Petco is actually pretty nice, and the main reptile dude is fairly knowledgeable. Plus I've never noticed any sick-looking reptiles, mites, or dirty cages. Even the rodent cages are usually squeaky clean... no pun intended, LOL.

Should I bother, and if so, what precautions should I take before & after?
