    What happened is the platinum is a combo. A lesser allele plus a daddy allele make a platinum, they sit on the same locus. Daddy gene is so subtle you could mistake it for a normal. If you breed a platinum to a normal, you produce lessers and all the non lessers are have the daddy gene.
