Passive eater?
Hello another question, I've had my ball python for over a week and ate perfectly fine but i do have a question. I've watched videos of people feeding their ball pythons and they always strike the f/t food right out of the tweezers. When i went ahead and tried feeding him, he really just smelt it and curled up in a ball. So i just left the mouse in there on his rock for a few minutes and he ate it on his own. Is this normal? thanks!

My BEL will sometimes not even constrict. He just slithers up and swallows.

Yes i'm very impressed! when i was picking him out, the guy said that he ate like a champ, so i went ahead and got him. I guess he didn't lie hehe

Sooo everyones gunna hate me for this but... 3 out of my 4 snakes eat like that. I just heat up the rat and lay it in the tub and they eat it just fine. My pastel girl is still on a feeding strike right now but once i break her she may get to this point too lol.
My cinny boy is actually kinda weird. If the f/t rat is above 93ish degrees then he will strike and constrict even though its just laying there. But if i only heat the rat to 80ish degrees he wont strike or constrict and will just go up to it and start eating it. For awhile i was using up my adult mice and was giving him 2. So by the time he finished the first, which was hot, the 2nd would only be 78degrees or so and he wouldnt strike and constrict. They can be sooo weird sometimes lmao...

Hey as long as their eating! I've been a live feeder for quite awhile now but back in my early days when I only had a couple I used to use ft. One would try and snatch your hand off the other liked me to gently place the ftd rat in the tub and then he'd just go eat.

It's normal. Just be ultra careful if you ever decide to feed him live. But if he's eating and taking f/t, that's excellent!

Naww i don't ever plan on feeding live, my snow corn eats f/t also so it's easier for me. That way I don't get attached to a feeder mouse or rat
