Las Vegas Reptile Show
I was just wondering who has been to te Vegas reptile expo and how good/big of a show it is? I live in Canada so I have only been to the Calgary and Red Deer show before. I was considering going to Vegas in September to see the next reptile expo there but I was just wondering if it would be worth it. Also what is the selection/variety of animals there?
Thanks

I just went this past weekend to the Vegas Expo (first time I've been to this specific expo), and was a little disappointed in the size. It was pretty small IMO, the Phoenix Expo I went to last November was larger. But there were still lots of good vendors and lots of nice animals to see. Nice variety though I didn't see too many giants (probably because of the ban) and was surprised that I didn't see many "lower end" ball morphs (ie cheaper morphs such as pins, pastels, mojos, etc - there was a lot of higher end stuff which was still cool to see). Quite a bit of chams and turtles/toroises too. Overall a nice show but I wouldn't have been sad if I didn't make the drive up for it (though I did find a long sought after female for my collection and my bf got a nice Mojo ball too).
I have posted lots of pics of the expo in a thread in the BP Pictures forum.

I went last year and this year. It's not a huge showroom and this year there didn't seem to be a huge selection, but I always enjoy it. I still ended up coming home with a Carpet Python this year. I wouldn't say it's worth the long trip from Canada though.

Dont forget to check with your border customs! You most likely will NOT be able to back a Ball Python. Or anything python I do believe.
You should come to Ontario for the massive expo in Toronto in September! Gunna be a real good one this year!

Re: Las Vegas Reptile Show
Any Nevada expo is not worth traveling that far, imo.

How is it far? I don't even think the flight is 2 hours.

I know I probably wouldn't be able to bring anything back. I would just go to look basically. I wouldn't wanna deal with the hassle of getting something through customs, if it would be even possible.
What is the selection in ontario like? What would I see there that I couldn't see I'm Alberta?
Is there a law in ontario where you can only own colubrids? Or am I getting my provinces wrong?
Also I bet going to Toronto would cost me more then Vegas. Last year I was either gonna go to Vancouver(where I had a place to stay for free) or Vegas. Vegas was cheaper.

It takes me about 30min to fly to Vegas and I don't think I'd go just for that show.
If you want to go to an expo in September, look into the one in Sacramento. They do a show every September; I haven't gone in several years, but when I went in 2009 it was very big and featured a lot of cool animals and some interesting presentations.
