    Ball python logging

I was curious.. I'd like to start a log
for feedings, sheds, weights, etc. But I'm not sure how I would format it.. I know other breeders out there have been doing it for years.. I keep everything on a calendar right now.. But I'd like to switch it over to a notebook/tablet. Id like to get some ideas if possible.. Send your pics !

    Thanks so much!

    -Mark

I concur with the members above. iHerp is what I use for all my tracking/logging information, it's great and easy to use.

I used to use iherp a lot, but I am just going to stick to paper logs for now, then transfer it over to iherp when I have time.

Sometimes its nice to have some physical documentation My sheets are really simple. A column for the date and a column for each animal. Write down the date and F for feeding or W for weight and then record what I need to. I left a little extra room for notes.

Haven't been doing it for years but my system seems to work:
Excel with 6 rows for each animal, merged on the left to write some info about the individual animal. Lock that big merged cell so it stays put when you scroll.

2 rows each for feeding - one for the date and one for 'comments' like the prey size and type.

2 rows each for shedding - one for dates and one for comments like how many pieces, whether eyes were clear, etc.

2 rows each for 'other' which would be weights, full cleanings, weird behavior changes, etc. with 1 row for the date and one for comments.

You can use any free cloud storage app and access it from your computer OR your tablet / laptop.

Unless of course by 'tablet or notebook' you did not mean computers and literally meant pen and paper, in which case please disregard this post

I have been trying reptile scan. It is working well so far a few things that I wish it had and a few that I wish were different but generally good.

Thanks so much everyone, I am going to look into each one of them as soon as I get off work. I will probably check out iherp first since that got the majority of the votes. I was wondering if you could send me a picture of your excel spreadsheet MR LANG...?? I like the sound of it. I just can't visualize it perfectly.

    Thanks again everyone !!
