You can pretty much make one out of anything. I wish we had an extra closet, I'd rig one up outta that.
I have a giant closet =]. There's 3 rooms in my house with massive closets . I got one of 'em, and the other my sister uses as an office. She told me to put an incubator or another rack in the closet... It's a walk-in closet... lol. Her and her fiance's room is HUGE and about 3x the size of my room it seems like lol, so they're just going to get a wardrobe.

I built both of my incubator, when I started I build a cooler incubator capable of holding 8 egg boxes, sold it and built a new one with an old fridge this time capable of holding 20 to 30 egg boxes.

I just finished building mine last night using this tutorial by twistedtails...http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...bator-Tutorial.

I am not very handy, but had a very easy time building it because of his GREAT write-up. I found a working wine cooler with a glass door on Craigslist for $70. All together I spent about $275 including a new Herpstat 1.

Here's a crappy pic...(The eggs in there are snapping turtle eggs in case anyone was wondering).

1.0 Mojave 100% Het VPI Axanthic "Pleepleus"
1.2 Albino Common Snapping Turtles "Beavis, Patty & Selma"

Re: Where to get an incubator?

I bought mine from Nature's Spirit. Very simple, but I didn't want to take a chance with my eggs by making one myself at the time. Now that I have the design in front of me I can build more if needed. Sometimes peace of mind is worth the extra cash.

Slap an oil filled heater, fan, and thermostat in there!

    Incubator

Built this one for about 40.00 plus the cost of the Helix.
Found the freezer at a repair shop that they couldn't fix.
Bought the light sockets and wire at Lowes
Computer fan and 12v converter from Radio Shack

There ya go! While I haven't used their bators yet, I did mess with them at the show and they seem solid. I should be picking one up soon.

I made one out of a 150qt marine cooler. Holds up to 10 clutches.
