I have been breeding mine in a "colony". I had the (4) females together in a 20 long for several weeks. Once breeding season came on, I added the male. After about 40ish eggs from the colony, i have had to pull the male and 1 of the females. They got so obsessed with breeding, they stopped eating and started dropping weight. They are all good now and putting weight on again. I have 1.1 together in a different tub and the female just started laying. I really don't think it matters to much how you do it, they will do their thing! I have now hatched 4 babies so far this season and many more to go!
