Sorry to hear about the leg. Fellow rider here too. Lost two people that I rode with last year in two seperate accidents so I'm glad to see you made it out alive. Keep your chin up.

    Re: Motorcycle wreck.

Rest up...having an amputation below the knee means you'll still be able to ride and get along really well, not that that is any consolation. Getting hit at that speed and T-boned in a car is devistating, on a bike...wow! You should go buy yourself a lottery ticket. I ride too, infact, I was on my Valkyrie at about 3am riding home from work...it's amazing how many people drive in a trance...i've had people merge on the highway into my lane while i'm in it...knocked on the driver's side window and waved...almost gave an old lady a heart attack.

I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Just an update I have been moved to a amputee rehabilitation center and they said that it should only be a week until I get to go home to my family. But there is still plenty to do on the long road of recovery, but I will continue to have a positive attitude and keep my head up.

Oh man, sorry to hear about that, but at least you got the right attitude. You're alive and have a lot of folks who support ya. Things like this really put things in perspective and make you appreciate the little things in life. Whatever you do, don't think of yourself as handicapped. Be handicapable! Just keep your head up and everything will be just fine.

I realize I am a few weeks late for this, my apologies. I was going to mention, but now merely am agreeing that you could still enjoy your love of motorcycles. Particularly because the right foot is really just for the rear brake, and not gear control, it wouldn't be too hard to eventually reacclimate to riding on two wheels.

Until you put rubber on the road again, you have some extra time to put into your herps.
