    Personally, I dont care for spiders. I dont have one and dont plan on ever getting one. They tend to reduce the pattern too much for my tastes, and i cant stand all the white they usually have coming up the sides. There are very few spider combos that i like, and the ones i do like are way out of my price range, or would take years of breeding to get to.

    Im kind of the same way with pastels, I'm not into them much. Especially now when the vast majority of pastels out there are brown from the beginning. Even alot of super pastels ive seen look terrible, the genes may be present, but they look kind of like crap IMO.

    When it comes to pastel combos, theres a lot of them that i like, firefly's, pewters, pastel enchi, lesser pastel, and hypo pastels for instance. The hypos are especially nice because they seem to get rid of a lot of the brown, and also make the colors brighter, same with fire. Even with the combos however there are quite a few examples of that morph that i will pass right by without a second look.

    There is potential with the two, but with how many that are out there, and with all the combos that they have been incorporated into, there isnt a whole lot that hasnt been done.

    I'm not looking to start a firefight, thats just my personal opinion on those genes.

    Pinstripes to me have the most potential. I love busy, the busier the better. I also like the darker morphs and combos, black pastel, granite's, sable, mojave, mahogany, ghi, het red, red stripe, cinny, axanthic and black axanthic, etc. are all genes that i plan on working with someday.

    And i dont like all of the "what morph should i get" posts, if anything, i will tell them to look at WOBP and find what they like, since if you dont get what YOU like, your not going to be happy with it in the long run, so i usually stay out of them.

    pastel = $150.00
    spider = $200.00

    two of the cheapest morphs and their genes alone make:

    Super pastel = $450.00
    Bumble Bee = $500.00
    killer bee = $1250.00

    The Pastel gene is one of the most used genes to morph color and spider is one of the most used genes to alter patterns.

    Also for beginners its very easy to identify the hatchlings, where as you can have more difficulty with some of the other morphs. Bumble bees, killer bees, pastels, SPs, and spiders are very easy to sell as well. They are both popular in breeding circles and are now more frequent in the pet trade. As a beginner it can be difficult to find buyers, the more outlets the better.

    That's why I recommend them.

    Chris.

    The reason bumblebees are suggested so much is because for the price you get the most drastic change. lemon blast isn't as drastic as a bumblebee. In general people like the drastic change.

    bumble bee was the 1st combo i chased after when i started but yeah for the same money or even less now why not take a shot at a pewter? pastel x cinnamon. cinny males are down to 100 in my area.

    the steele city expo in washington pa. lol I was there on april 29th and seemed everywhere I looked male spiders were $100 to $150, pastel males were $80 to $125, cinny males $100. I sold a pinstripe male, pastel female, cinnamon male, and a spider 66% het hypo female there for $350 for the lot just to make room in my yearling rack. gotta look for the deals and most people give hella discounts for groups. IMO that was a great price for the group and if I hadnt gotten deals like that from people when I started I wouldnt have half the animals I have now.
