Re: Incubator Fan and Temp Flux

Computer fans are 12volts. some come with resisters to lower the applied voltage , and fan speed. Cell phone chargers are usually convert to 12 volts. Look on the back of the charger and it will tell you what it puts out. I'm using a tablet charger I got on clearance. It's barely warm running 24/7.

Re: Incubator Fan and Temp Flux

I attached a 12v cell phone charger from an old cell to a PC fan and have had no issues at all. Been running the setup two years straight now and temps stay at a nice 88-89 degrees

So I decided to try this. However, upon cutting the cell charger wire, there are no colors. Both appear to have copper wire but one has more strands than the other.

Theonly difference on the outside is that one wire has dark grey dashes eunning the entire length.

    Any ideas here?

Connect the dark grey with the dashes to the red wire on the fan. Connect the other two wire together. Plug it in.

If nothing happens reverse the wires and plug it back in.
