    My IHerp Review

So I decided to get an iHerp account this past weekend. I've been adding stuff and playing with it. Overall I find it much better than my Excel sheets.

It's easier to add things like feedings, shed, poops and such.

Now here are the few things I don't like thaI I hope gets improved.

    1) No overall data displays. For example, that if I want to see all the feedings of my entire collection I have to go to each snake a pull their feeding record. It would be nice to have a way to see all feedings in one spot. Well myabe not ALL. I'd be happy with clicking on a date and seeing who all ate what on that date.

    2) Making a breeding project is to stringent. It won't let you created one with out listing a specifc male in the system. I have for gravid girls from another breeder who doesn't use iHerp. I would just like to be able to say "Bred to Male Kingpin" and it be excepted. And what if you have a female that ends up being gravid but you didn't breed it and the last guy didn't breed it?

    3) Clutches. They're missing one key clutch stat: Date laid. Instead it just has date born.

That's aside, I think I'll be using it for everrything else from now on. I'll just have to keep track of my clutches old school.

Here's my page if anyone cares. Trying to get more pics for everyone.

Just a heads up there is an option in the breeding project record for "Laid Eggs".
You can see it recorded here:http://www.iherp.com/Reptiles/Breedi...ingRecord=4505

I do see that. But when creating a new "Clutch" there's nothing there. It seems that to the site a clutch doesn't start until the eggs hatch which isn't right to me. And what if you breed boas? Boas don't have clutches, they have litters.

So what I call a clutch is actually in the Breeding Project, which I can't create since the males aren't in the system.

Ah, I see what you are saying. Yeah when you make a breeding project you can record every detail all the from the initial pairing.

In order to be able to start a breeding project you could add the sire or dame from the other breeder to your account and just make a note of who the owner is in the animals profile and even mark the animals status as "on loan" or something.
That way you'll be able to start a breeding project record. Since the animals owner isn't on iHerp they shouldn't mind.
