I incubate my corn eggs around 79 (they literally sit on the shelf above the heat lamp on my display cage). It's been shown that they will hatch later at lower temps but it allows them to absorb more yolk. 84 is at the high end of the scale for corns and though they'll hatch sooner, they tend to have lower birth weight. With that many eggs, they'll have a lower birth weight to begin with so no reason to make it harder. I've never incubated higher than 81 and with the exception of her clutch of 42, my babies have always been 7-12 g. Like I mentioned before, the babies will probably be smaller so make sure to have tiny pinks on hand as you get closer to hatch date. It'll probably be between 65-70 days with the lower temps though I have had them go 72-73 days.

Thank you so much once again!

I candled some of the eggs tonight, and I saw veins, so I know at least some of them are good.

I think I have them steady between 79-81 now, But I'll check in the morning just to be sure.

How would I go about the calcium supplement? She usually eats F/T small rats weekly.

    Thank You.

Corn eggs are pretty hardy so don't worry too much. For calcium, you have a couple options. There is the liquid which you can get from a vet (not really worth it IMO) or the calcium dust sold for crickets, etc. Just make sure it's calcium dust (without D3 if you can find it) and not 'vitamin' dust. I thaw my mice directly in water because my corns don't care whether it's wet or not. Then I just sprinkle some of the calcium powder on the wet mouse. Doesn't take much but the extra helps them from pulling too much from their bones if they double clutch.
