Re: Logging your snake's weight, meals, etc.
I personally use index cards - basic info name, species, common name, age, gender along the top.
Then track feeding, whether it was accepted or not, bowel movements, when the cage was cleaned, shed cycles, and breeding info.
I then transfer that over to iherp about once a month or so.
Works for me!

I use iHerp and my Kindle Fire that way I can track as I'm feeding/weighing. Anything else, I just add into their record when I get on the computer.

I'll check out iHerp. Sounds popular. I wished it had a companion iphone app tho. I'm checking out several pet log (diary) iphone apps.
Neo PetCare
RSPCA
PetBook
Caniner
A couple of them are very fruity tho, like PetBook. So far Caniner is my favorite but it can only track up to 8 pets. (It doesn't have to be a dog).
When I kept planted freshwater fish tanks, I kept meticulous notes, but I'm finding it's more important to do it with snakes... Once a planted tank is established, you can pretty much ignore it (except for supplementing) live and learn.

Re: Logging your snake's weight, meals, etc.
iHerp does have a companion mobile option but it has less options than the full version. They are linked, however so it makes it easy if you don't have time to log onto the computer every time.

Excel. Saved each snake to my desktop and just update and save. Took less than 5 minutes to create all and less than 1 min to update.

I use a combination of a composition notebook where I log my daily interactions (feedings, weights, breeding, etc) and then take that daily log and upload the information to iHerp on a monthly basis just to have an electronic copy should something ever happen to my paper copy. I'm also in the process of creating records binders that will have a file for each snake.
