For a larger snake I say a carpet. They are semi arboreal but if given something to climb on and perch on, they will almost always be on it. A nice display cage that is high enough for perches or branches would look great.

I was just about to suggest this. I just got my first carpet this Saturday, and she's almost always out on her stick right up against the glass, exploring the ground near the back, or curled up in her water bowl. I've only seen her hiding once so far.

Not to mention she's freaking BEAUTIFUL. And the perfect size. If you want a smaller one, go Irian Jaya, and if you want a big gal, get a female coastal. And then there are all the other subspecies and hybrids in between.
