I agree, her blushing is insane. Very pretty girl! As far as the paleness, it is true. I rescued a pastel female that was very malnourished and dehydrated. He body color was not vibrant and inside her mouth was more white than pink.

Thanks guys. It's kindof sad that I didn't know how good she is when I bought her. I just thought she was very pretty. Since I wasn't looking to breed, I didn't bother doing any research on morphs before showing up at the herp store.

She was tube fed again today. I left voicemail for the vet asking for test results and expressing concern about the oil they're using to remove the mites. And now I'm just waiting for a return call.

I'm out of work for the rest of the day to take myself to the doctor. My house must be harboring some bad juju because my kids have both been carrying a bug for a while too. Hopefully I can get out of here early enough to finish shopping heating for those tubs.

But too much oil softens the scales, which isn't good. It's just better to use PAM or a Dawn Soap bath. The oil is a old home remedy.

Yea, I hear you on that. I didn't think they would be just keeping her covered in it. I thought they just did it once to remove the existing mites, ya know?

Doc said it was for wiping them off. Also said the mites are gone now so I didn't make a big deal out of it. I'm pissed because I caught a mite on the male today. Just one. But where there's one, there must be more.

Manasha is ready to come back home but doc wants her back every few days for tube feeding. I think if she will eat at least once on her own we can do without the forced feedings. I can't imagine continuing to force feed a snake is all that good. (not unless it's a life and death thing)

I'll be bringing her home on wednesday.

Today I passed by the herp store where I got both snakes. And talked to the guy who sold them to me. He said they were 3 months old when I got them. But no hatch date which just means he could be wrong. I'll stick with a November hatch month. He couldn't tell me much more. He was having a hard time remembering what I bought in the first place.

I told him what's happening with manasha and you'd thing someone shot his dog. But he went on to tell me that they have a pinstripe with the same issues. Eats twice per week and hasn't grown in 7 months. His reasoning for this was that some snakes just take their sweet time growing and it will "kick in" in good time. But that explanation doesn't sound all that kosher to me.

My tubs are nearly done. I need one more heat mat and the thermostat that gets here on wed to call it done. Hopefully by this time wednesday, my snakes will be comfortable and in a good place.

It sounds like that guy should stop buying the snakes from people that are harboring mites and parasites in their collection.
Babies that don't grow usually aren't eating or parasites are taking all of their nutrients so they're eating but not thriving.
