    Unexpected field herping.

I was at a customers house today and came across this bad boy. It's a crotalus ruber. The guys whos' house I was at was freaking out. He was wanting to call the cops and everything! I caught him and he has been donated to a buddy who uses them for snake breaking hunting dogs. Had I left him, he would surely have been killed. Mind you, this animal did not strike or rattle once. Such an awesome snake!

He is pretty cool looking. I am not familiar with that type of snake. Are they venemous?

Yeah. It's a red diamond rattlesnake. They are not the worst of the rattlesnakes, but, they can cause some trouble if bit. They have a hemotoxin venom.
