This is also a good idea. If I'm going to attempt to prove her out, I'm going to try to find a good lookin' male visual hypo morph!

Seems like I saw a double het clown hypo male recently and that would give you the chance to produce clowns and maybe clown hypo first generation.

Or if you like hypo mojave why not pick one of those males up and produce mojave double het clown hypo and normal double het clown hypo and maybe hypo mojave het clown if she hits.

Oh, and although I have zero clown experience based on my normal het hypo experience I would expect a clown het hypo to be brighter and cleaner (less dark in the light pattern) than a typical clown. I guess that could be hard to tell though since clowns are light to start with and I understand normally lighten with age. But if your clown 66% het hypo girl is much lighter than other clowns the same size I would think your odds would be even better than the 2 in 3 on paper. Might check for pattern in her shed two as some normal het hypos shed clear like homozygous hypos but then I don’t even know if clowns shed clear messing that possible indicator up also.

And not to mention, if she proved out then you could just incorporate the hypo gene into what your original plan was for her...

Thanks for the information! I THINK I see the hypo influence in other morphs like the bumblebee and lessers/butters. The bees that were het hypo that I saw at the reptile expo had such bright yellows and dark blacks! The lessers were funky colored and already had some fading. I've seen clowns that looked very light brown and faded, but I've also seen some jet black clowns with high contrasted black backs! Clowns are so variable which is one of the reasons I wanted to work with them !

I have been down this road and I will tell you what happens. You will not end up with just one more snake. It will be several. If you buy a pastel ghost male and breed them all babies are going to be double hets. So if you end up with a 1.1 POG het clowns you pretty much have to keep them to try for the super pastel orange ghost clown. It's great fun but like we all know it's never just one more snake.

I would prove her out. Breed her to something Hypo though, not something like a codom het Hypo.
