I was just curious. I have had BP's in the past but that was about 15+ years ago. So only some of the info I learned then retained. I am going back into this as a newbie. My pastel did it for a while, but now he just camps out in his hid. I just don't remember my others doing it back in the day

Very normal behavior.
Balls in the wild will periscope to see over the tall African grass.

Your little guy looks amazing periscoping in his enclosure

Yeah mine kinda scared me when she first periscoped. No worries though.

It's only dangerous because you might die of over-exposure to adorable behavior.
