Dangers of Overfeeding?

Are there any dangers of over-feeding? I don't mean powerfeeding, I mean one meal that is uncharacteristically large. Like, instead of 10-15% the meal in question is around 20-25%.
If it looks like she can get it down, is there really any issue?

I know it probably causes some tension on there muscles going down, But looking at snakes in the wild beggers cant be choosers they are gunna eat whatever they find so I personally dont see any harm in feeding a rather large food item. Now doing this week by week is a different story.

Well it depends.

If your temps are right it should be fine as far as the snake digesting before the meal rots inside it. If your temps are variable or just wrong however it will probably lead to a regurge.

You still might get a regurge anyway though - which is obviously serious.

And there is always a chance ( though it is probably quite slim for a one off event ) that it might trigger a fast.

Is there any real reason you want to do it?

No, I just had this one huge 350g rat that my roommates boyfriend got for her snake. Her snake is only 1500g, and didn't want that rat in the least. I tried feeding it to my 2000g male, but he didn't want it either. I knew it was a risk, but I showed it to my 1700g female, she'll eat anything. Took it down no problem, and was fine that night. But now her bulge looks almost painful. I've left her completely alone, because i don't want her to stress out.

Needless to say, my roommate no longer sends her boyfriend out to get snake food

It was after hours, so we couldn't return the rat. We had nothing but a cardboard box to keep it in, and it chewed out. AND the cats were bound and determined to eat it. The other roommate FREAKED out when I suggested just offing it and freezing it instead.

I checked my temps again, 93 warm side, 84.5 cool side. I have an IR therm that I use to check temps twice a day - they haven't fluctuated more than a degree in the last few days.

Fair enough,

Just give her an extra few days with no interuptions or stress to digest it.

I'm assuming I probably should give her a few more days after the week - before offering food again too? I offer on a 7 day cycle for my adults.

I'd probably keep to the standard feeding schedule - I always think the routine helps.

I wouldn't stress out if she doesn't eat that week though.
