When I was still active duty we used to do 24 hour forced ruck marches. It was over mostly flat ground, but we would cover over 40 miles each time, and the strongest guys could have covered more. Our goal was always to start as a group and finish as a group so we could only go as fast as the slowest man.

It is possible, especially with a light pack (<20lbs). Just gotta have the endurance and drive. Still interested to see how it went.

lol....We're still alive guys!!! I appreciate all of the interest as well! We ended up throwing in the towel at 40 miles in 15 hours. The cold became intolerable and we were burning way more calories than anticipated due to fighting the cold weather.
We will be attempting the same goal in the next month (with better weather of coarse). We were well on pace even in the pitch dark. I'll start a new thread for our second attempt!
